Available as part of our Mix and Match selection, here you can choose from a range of Cast-Iron Inserts & Fascias to suit your taste and home.
Cast iron inserts were a fixture in homes of the traditional architectural periods such as Victorian, Federation & Edwardian & distinguished by their period specific decorative features. Originally inserts were used as the primary source of heat & included an integrated grate to burn solid fuels such as timber or coal.
Inserts are still a popular choice in new & renovated homes built in the classic styles where decorative gas burners are usually fitted to recreate the original live fire effect.
Fascias are often used in conjunction with a mantelpiece or surround. They contribute the first layer of decorative effect & by distancing the mantle or surround from the fireplace opening help to proportion the fireplace suite. Cast irons ability to tolerate very high heat exposure provides for a stable & non-combustible zone immediately around the open fireplace or gas heater.
