Cast iron inserts were a fixture in homes of the traditional architectural periods such as Victorian, Federation & Edwardian & distinguished by their period specific decorative features. Originally inserts were used as the primary source of heat & included an integrated grate to burn solid fuels such as timber or coal.

Inserts are still a popular choice in new & renovated homes built in the classic styles where decorative gas burners are usually fitted to recreate the original live fire effect. Here we have a selection of Cast-Iron Inserts with the iconic tiling which many associate with a period fireplace.
