Rotating Aspirators are wind driven cowls which assist in increasing draw on particular chimneys when it is windy. They can also help prevent downdraft on chimneys and in certain circumstances due to other environmental factors, a Rotating Aspirator it is the only cowl option available. Having said this Rotating Aspirator Cowls should not be used on inefficient stoves or fireplaces that burn slowly or throughout the night as this will cause excessive tarring on the moving parts.

Our Rotating Aspirators are made from high grade 316 stainless steel and come in two sizes to fit various chimney pot sizes from 115mm – 235mm (use the drop down to select your correct size). Inside the box will be four hook bolts that secure the aspirator to the inside of your chimney pot. If for whatever reason this will not work in your situation you can purchase a strap fixing kit which allows you to attach the cowl from the outside of the chimney pot by means of a large jubilee clip.

Cleaning & Sweeping – as this is a closed top cowl when you have your chimney swept, the sweeps brushes will hit the top of the cowl internally. This can result in damage to the rotating motion of the aspirator, therefore each cowl is fitted with swivel feature that enables the chimney to be swept without fear of damaging the cowl. Above the fixing plate a winged nut is located which locks the cowl into the correct position for operation, simply slacken this off and the top section will easily swivel to one side. As well as having the chimney swept regularly these cowls should be checked & cleaned yearly to ensure it is both free from tar and can spin freely.
