Buying an AGA doesn’t simply result in a superb stove becoming a part of your home – you become a member of the AGA family, part of decades of heritage, innovation and ingenious design. The Ludlow SE multifuel stove is no exception. Exquisite detail and superb views of the flames make this stove a brilliant option for interiors requiring for understated chic and classic charm.
Active Airflow Technology
AGA’s Active Air Wash System maintains a clean viewing window whilst ensuring a clean burn on the Ludlow SE. Air is pulled in from below the bed of fuel, creating the perfect conditions for burning both wood and smokeless coal. Before any unburnt fuel has the chance to exit the stove with the smoke into the chimney, they are reignited. This not only provides added heat, it ensures you get the very most from your fuel as well reducing the emissions released by the stove. The air is introduced to the Ludlow SE’s firebox through the large spinning wheel on the door, an air slider above the door and a third supply beneath the stove.
Strong, Reliable, Robust - AGA
The cast-iron body of the AGA Ludlow SE has been individually moulded and hand-finished by skilled craftsmen. Cast-iron has excellent heat retention properties, meaning your stove will continue to release heat into your room even as the fire fades to embers. The striking wired handle is carried across from the culturally significant AGA range cookers and provides a cool-to-touch operation of the door, making refuelling the fire easier and safer.
A Cleaner Burn for Everyone
The AGA Ludlow SE can be used in Smoke Control Areas, meaning it can be used in cities and towns across the country, without emitting pollution. DEFRA is the department for environment, food and rural affairs, and their approval on a given stove means that it is permitted to burn wood inside smoke control zones. DEFRA approval is decided on the emissions profile of a stove; under a certain threshold DEFRA approval is granted, therefore, DEFRA approval is a mark of efficiency and environmental neutrality. The wood burning Ludlow SE has also been approved be HETAS who are the official governing body recognised by the government to approve solid fuel domestic heating appliances such as stoves.
AGA, one of the biggest brand names in the world, and certainly the most well-known range cooker company, but they also make wood burning, multifuel and boiler stoves. In 2006 AGA bought the well-established and historical Coalbrookdale Foundry in Ironbridge which was where iron ore was first smelted by Abraham Darby.
