The Firemaster Cast-Iron Soot Box is available in two sizes, and provide access into the chimney for cleaning and maintenance. Often cleaning is done through the stove or an access hatch in the register plate, should this not be possible then you should consider placing a soot box into the brickwork of the chimney. The cast-iron plate on the outside of the box unscrews to reveal a hidden second door inside that can only be opened once the outer door is removed. Once this has been removed you have access into the chimney for cleaning any debris or for sweeping the chimney. As the firemaster soot boxes are made from cast-iron they can be simply built into a chimney, or retro-fitted by knowing a hole the same size and cementing the outer casing in place.
