The Portway 2 Traditional stove is a wood burning version of the Portway 2 that can burn for much longer between refuelling than many others. Portway wood stoves produces considerably less ash than other stoves making them among the cleanest burning stoves available. The Portway 2 Traditional wood burning stove has a built in airwash system, offers 10kWs of heat and can take a 410mm (16") log.
Portway stoves began in the early 1800's when the owner of an ironmongery store first saw an metal stove in North America. He drew inspiration from this and built his own stove to heat is store based in Halstead. Charles Portway's design proved to be so successful that Mr. Portway set up a small foundry manufacturing solid fuel stoves and did so right up till the 1980's without much alteration.
